10 Ways To Keep Your Waistline In Check

  1. Distract yourself. Instead of eating unnecessarily out of boredom, try your best to find an activity to take your mind off eating. Call up a friend, go for a walk, or run an errand. When you don't have as much time on your hands, you don't eat as much.images.jpeg

  2. Reduce your salt intake. Salt causes the body to retain water which in turn can lead to bloating and weight gain. Reducing the amount of salt (sodium) in your diet will also lower your blood pressure.

  3. Don't drink your calories. When you stop to consider how many calories you are consuming just from beverages alone, you might be shocked. Soda, juice and other high sugar beverages contain far more calories per serving than you may realize. Instead, switch to water, or tea. Green tea is actually shown to help you lose weight as it encourages your body to burn more calories.

  4. Weigh yourself. It's simple, if you know how much you weigh, or how much you've gained or lost each day, you will be less likely to eat the wrong foods and give in to your cravings.

  5. Count calories. It might seem like a tedious thing to have to do but it will help you gauge whether or not you need to eat more or less. Using a calorie counter, many of which are available on line, will help you calculate your calorie intake more effectively. See our “Calculating Calories” article.

  6. Chew your food slowly. Taking more time to eat your meals and to chew each mouthful slowly is critical in determining how much you eat. If you eat mindlessly, in a hurry, there is a tendency to over eat.

  7. Take before and after photos. Try placing the photos on your fridge or on your computer. Exposure to these images will give you the motivation you need to lose weight. You can send your before and after photos for a chance to win $250. We want to hear about your success using the innovative new weight loss product LepToThin™.

  8. Avoid fast food. This might seem like a no-brainer but it will get you on the right path to developing healthier eating habits.

  9. Spread the word. Let the world know you are trying to drop some lbs. If your family, friends and even the facebook community know about your weight-loss goals, you will be less likely to veer off path and be MORE likely to achieve your goals.

  10. Discover what it means to be satisfied instead of full. The feeling that you have had enough to eat is very different from feeling so full you might burst. The latter of the two is obviously not healthy. Smaller more frequent meals will help you to avoid the tendency to over indulge.
